COMPLEX INFOGRAPHIC

My complex infographic is comprised of four separate pieces: "Filipino Folk Dances", "Rice Dances", "Fish Dances", and "Martial Dances". Each infographic was intended for Pilipino Cultural Exchange (PCE), one of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo's on-campus cultural clubs. Though the four infographics could exist on their own, their messages focused on a similar concept. That is, categorizing the different folk dances allowed for an in-depth look into the "suites" of Philippine dance.

REVISIONS

Upon receiving usability testing feedback, I made the following changes.

In "Filipino Folk Dances", I replaced the icon of the crescent moon with a fuller one for an easier recognition of the icon. I also changed the "Karatong" dance to the "Bunga Mangga". One user noted that "karatong" referred to bamboo sticks; this conflicted with the mango icon, so I replaced the dance to one that was more relevant. Finally, I reworded the text so that users did not have to read too far into the paragraphs to see the reference.

In "Rice Dances", I changed the subtitle so that it more accurately reflected the dances depicted in the infographic. I also removed the rice grain bullet points as one user mistook them for something else.

I made similar changes to the subtitle and bullet points in "Fish Dances". I also reworded the description of the dances so that the folk dance connection was more explicit.

In "Martial Dances", I repositioned the third arrow so that it directly touched the bird, instead of vaguely touching the shield. I also made this more explicit in the associated paragraph by adding in parentheses: "as seen on the warrior's shield".
